Leo Club of Ananda College, in collaboration with partner Leo Clubs from DS Senanayake College, Gothami Balika, Sivali Central, and Maharagama Golden City, successfully launched Phase 1 of Project Spandana. This initiative focused on raising awareness about childhood cancer and promoting healthy living among young children.
Childhood cancer remains a significant health concern in Sri Lanka, with many families lacking access to early detection and proper treatment. Phase 1 was an Online Awareness Program designed to educate the public on the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, emphasize the importance of early detection, and promote healthy habits. Through social media campaigns and informative content, the initiative encouraged individuals to support children battling cancer and adopt healthier lifestyles.
The program successfully increased awareness, reaching hundreds of individuals with valuable information about childhood cancer and healthy living. The initiative also fostered community engagement, bringing together people from different backgrounds to share knowledge and experiences.
